Parish History
St. Thomas More Parish was established in 1958 in the middle of the Sherwood Forest subdivision and named after one of England's greatest saints. St. Thomas More, lawyer and Lord High Chancellor of England under Henry the Eighth, was martyred for his defense of Catholicism and the Primacy of the Pope. Thomas' gentleness and steadfastness, his love of learning, his desire for justice, and his devotion to God are virtues the parish especially seeks to promulgate.
